Are All Lottery Online A Scam?

For those who love to gamble on the lottery there are plenty of places you can play lottery online if you use caution and common sense. Many of these online lottery places are even free to play. Just sign up and give them your email address. But be aware that the way these sites make money is by selling your email address and there is no guarantee they pay anything out to the winners.

The lottery has always been a popular form of entertainment but when the private lottery companies realized how popular the internet was lottery blew up in popularity. The popularity of it all leads to a large number of scams as well though so caution is urged.

Many of the online lottery corporations are simply email mines. Businesses contract with them to purchase your email address so that they can send you advertisements in the hope that you will buy their products.

That means basically that signing up for these get rich quick play for free online games will net you little more than a headache in spam and junk email. The extra junk mail would even be OK if there was any proof that any of these companies actually pay out any of the winnings.

Unfortunately there is no proof the numbers are actually drawn in the first place. Even the games that list the names of the winners usually does not list the payout amounts and those that do only pay out pennies.

You will also want to be aware that one of the tricks these lottery places use to get your trust is by saying something like "the numbers are drawn every Tuesday by the state of Michigan lottery commission." This does not mean the state condones or is part of the lottery it simply means that they use the same technology to draw the numbers.

There are lottery online companies that are legitimate but you have to be very careful what you sign up for and read between the lines in the small print.
