Colorado Springs Chemical Peels Used For Acne Treatment
Cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists have three
different levels of chemical peel treatments that
can be applied to a person's face to improve the
skin. Of the three, the most commonly used is the
mildest, alpha-hydroxy acids. These Colorado Springs
chemical peels are used as an acne treatment.
The way the peels work is by penetrating a small
distance into the outer skin layer, below the dead
cells that are on the outside surface of the skin.
When removed, the peel takes a portion of this skin
with it, opening up pores and removing pimples.
In addition to removing active pimples, the peels
also help to reduce the depth and appearance of acne
scars. Scarring is relatively rare, showing up only
in cases of severe acne. However, when the scan does
scar from acne, the embarrassment suffered by the
individual can be profound.
Other conditions that can be treated using these AHA
peels include fine wrinkles, and rough, dry skin.
Following treatment, the use of sunblock is highly
recommended due to the sensitivity of the new skin
that is exposed. Because this particular type of
peel is very mild, it often takes several treatments
to obtain the result that one is seeking.
